Its really cold and snowy outside. Its time to heat things up a bit and start posting consistently more on my part. You would think I'd be able to post a lot. I certainly read a lot. I have 8500+ rss feeds updating every 15min on a variety of subjects. That's not including the books I read!
Anyways, its been time to make some changes. I've created a landing page for me at www.about.me/darren.tseng. This + a QR code will be useful for my resume and business card. Originally, I was thinking I'd take it a few steps further and stick an interactive (with annotations) youtube pre-interview video + bit.ly multilink + other links (facebook, twitter, linkedin, etc.). After a week of preparing and sucking on camera, I realized it may be better to save my charisma for a face-to-face encounter. I was already doubting the capability of HR people to even know what the QR code is for. I figure if they can't use it, they shouldn't hire me because they won't understand anything that comes out of my mouth anyways.
I'm going to make a mini-marketing campaign out of finding a job. I call it job fishing because job hunting hasn't been working for a vast majority of my generation. Soon enough, companies I want to be working for will have my custom QR code cards everywhere. I'll log the campaign through this site and let you know how it goes. For now I will be coming up with blog ideas for this site and Tradershedge.
